I'd like to amen and second your suggestion regarding our behavior. Reacting is just what the other side wants. Be focused and in charge. Being civil is not an act of cowardice. It's just the opposite.

Unfortunately, Rhana, I'm one to talk. I get so carried away by the depth, heart and intellect of the public speakers that I talk OUT LOUD to myself. I kind of didn't realize it until a very nice woman I was sitting next to kept glancing / glaring(?) at me. This is why I try to sit alone at a board meetings. But yes, the worse an announcement is, the more it will actually help us in '26. We may gasp, but we're more victorious by NOT showing our cards. See you shortly.

Some curious and, perhaps, perplexing events:

1. Tim Enos announces is resignation from the board (out of the blue, as far as the public is aware)

2. Tim Enos accepts the position (after a "couple of weeks" of contemplation) back to his former job as chief of police of the Sarasota County Schools (not sure of the exact title).

3. Not sure which came first: The offer of the police chief position or Tim's desire to quit the board mid-term. Did Tim say I want to resign from the Board...and then Conner offered the police chief ... or ... was it something else???

4. Tom Edwards got his nose bent out of shape because he wasn't shown respect by being informed of Tim Enos' resignation and job change. That whole scene was "perplexing". Why was Tom making a point that protocols were not followed in the resignation and re-assignment of Tim back to his old job.

5. And then yesterday it is announced that Gov DeSantis has appointed Karen Rose, a close DeSantis ally, as Tim's replacement. That was an interesting, if not predictable, appointment.o

6. I'm new to the area so don't have all the background. I do know that voters chose NOT to re-elect Karen Rose to the School Board in the last election. The voters voted her out. The voters did not want Karen Rose. The voters said NO to Karen Rose. And now, Desantis puts Rose back on the board through a convenient resignation and re-assignment, without regard to the voters' NO VOTE.

Very curious.

You understand the scenario perfectly.

Well, that was something last night. Back in the saddle, I thought I had three minutes and was so upset to be cut off at 2:00. Now I know why. By the way, I am getting the receipts for Robyn about the 50 ESE lawsuits. Bless Tom for getting the Code of Conduct tabled, and to Liz for her calm, logical comments. So sad that we had to listen to Bridget yammer on about "All means all." She completely missed (or purposely ignored) the historical precedents as to why all doesn't mean all, which is why our laws against employment discrimination includes specific protections.
