Beautifully done, as always. After the school board election, I hope you'll do a piece on the terrible consequences for schools if Amendment 3 passes, even though the school tax is exempt from the homestead reduction. Many don't realize how much community organizations and businesses contribute to schools' safety and success. They will have will have significant budget cuts and will have to make hard decisions that will surely affect these contributions,
I shared this on your FB post too. Feel free to share any of my school photos from the last two weeks.
Bravo! Love the analogy of “The Little Engine That Could.” Working at Brentwood for my school counseling internship (we no longer use the term “guidance counselor” - American School Counselors Association), our staff embraced the expanding student body to include 6th grade. I lovingly call it the “Soft Open.” Every teacher, staff member, and the administration, has made the transition beautifully seamless. As I work hall duty (as the new sixth graders move to their period classes like proper middle schoolers) the students are smiling, friendly, excited, and proud. I encourage our school board members and county commissioners to visit these reimagined schools. There is a lot of credit to go around for what I believe will be a truly successful year!
I'm so very happy that you are in the midst of everything you worked SO hard for, Tamara. It was only yesterday when you took that chance at USF and now - here you are! Congratulations on your first week at school. (When did they stop using Guidance Counselor - the 1970's? LOL)

This WILL happen, Jill. Thank you!
I love your analogy since I am a train enthusiast.
You need to 'interrupt' regular programming and do a blog on trains! I'll bet you have great photos.
