Please tell me you're taking care of yourself!!!! Eating well, sleeping, taking vitamins.....

I didn't even know there was a workshop. Once again I rely on you. I read the Carrie Seidman article. How did you even remember to look it up. Evidence of how much she's missed at the SHT. As depressing as the public school situation is there are a few beams of sunshine behind the clouds. The public awakening. Liz and Tom on the school board. SEE Alliance and many others working for change. Where there's life there's hope.

Enrollment is key. The Barancik Foundation is moving mountains for public education. If only a corporation or billionaire would step up with marketing for our public school system. We can dream, right? But, yes - there IS hope.

Re: salaries for teachers

Imagine if Florida had a governor that valued public education, valued funding public education (not increasing school vouchers), and valued giving raises to public school educators. Just listened to Democrat gubernatorial candidate, David Jolly, and he cares about public education. He said (paraphrased): educators don't need a 2 or 3 percent raise, they need a 30% raise.

Re: school board meeting schedule. I attended the last few meetings. They do seem to be marathon sessions. I support 2 meetings per month...in different locations in this large county...to respect folks throughout the county.

I just reached out to the future Governor of Florida, so I'm glad you brought David Jolly up. The pendulum is going to swing back. The Republicans went too far in politicizing their agenda to dismantle public education. More Florida citizens have gone to public schools than private or charter. What are they thinking? They can't spin their way out of this. They just cost themselves the '26 elections alone on this. Not to mention what they did to FEMA. Thank you for your input, Michele.

I hope the incident at the June 14 Bayfront rally that you’re going to discuss is the woman who was wearing a mask and was stopped by 3 Sarasota police officers. A bystander filmed this incident, and the lead cop said there was an “ordinance” that stated no masks could be worn at a protest. He handed her a piece of paper that supposedly was about this ordinance. I don’t know if she removed her mask or not, but I know she wasn’t arrested. I tried searching to see what city ordinance this was but couldn’t find any info. I did find an article from June 9 about Trump’s tweet that any protesters wearing a mask should be arrested. If you can find any info for us on the mask issue, that would be great.

Since it was workshopped, does that mean that it will be up for a vote next meeting? If they have removed 'subgroups', then they best be removing the twisted 'gender non-fluid', factually incorrect, logically baffling "resolution" urgently required by BZ!! Rescind the ill-advised 'resolution'! Rose and Ziegler both claimed "hundreds" of emails requesting it be passed (albeit in preparation for the 'We will not comply' portion when Biden EO'd it)--NO EVIDENCE of that under FOIA.

Yes, they are advertising it for a vote to be taken at the next meeting. I am alarmed by Liz Barker's words: "I have grave concerns." I'll be writing about her and Tom Edwards' response asap.
