A truly beautiful tribute to the deserving, unsung heroes among us! I live up on AMI and have only made it out to one school board meeting (and a book club discussion at SEE Alliance,) but I watch nearly all the meetings online and am always so very impressed and inspired by the people you highlighted in this post!

Cory, what's AMI? SEE was a Heaven on Earth. I'm looking forward to writing a more in-depth article about the work they do - and the hard adult choices they had to make in order for it to happen. The thing I didn't love about the article is I think of the people I left out. It comes to me later. But this blog would turn into 11,000 pages if I named everyone. They're all outstanding. Thank you for reading and commenting.

A really beautiful post Bubbie. There is so much mutual respect among us. Everyone has a different experience to share. It’s also shameful that the MAGA board members just shut down their ears and their hearts to the stories of real parents, teachers and students. I really wonder what the incentives are and who is pulling the strings of these puppets?

Advocates for public education really show a united front. This group of individuals is impressive. As for incentive. . .I know Neal spoke at a workshop hoping to provide low income housing to teachers. Considering they don't seem to keep promises (the Venice lawsuit), and the fact that Neal has donated generously to Ziegler's campaign, it's my hope that they won't be a serious consideration.
